How Well Do You Know THEbenefitsHUB – Answers

Below are the answers to the questions you just answered. Find out how well you did!

1. Which link would you utilize in order to begin the process of a location change within the same company?

Correct answer:  Division… Divisions in THEbenefitsHUB represent the various locations within your company.  This could be represented by the elementary school, middle school, high school, or the corporate office, the Dallas office, the Austin office.  It’s important to make sure the most accurate divisions are in THEbenefitsHUB.  For some companies, the division of an employee may determine eligibility.

2. Which employee status can be changed from “Active” without terminating the benefits?

Correct answer:  FMLA… Every other status in THEbenefitsHUB requires the benefits to be terminated first before the employee’s status is changed to any other status other than Active or FMLA.  When an employee goes on FMLA you do not want to terminate their benefits first.  So, if you find yourself changing an employee’s status (who is not going on FMLA) from Active to anything other than Terminated first, you may want to verify that you are processing the change correctly.

3. If an employee’s spouse is mistakenly marked as “Ex-Spouse” in THEbenefitsHUB, what is the first step to correcting them?

Correct answer:  Changing the status back to “Spouse…”  We’ve all made mistakes in THEbenefitsHUB, so if you have ever changed a Spouse mistakenly to Ex-Spouse, you don’t change their status to Active, you change them back to a Spouse.  This way they display again under the Dependent Information icon and you may edit their benefits if need be.

4. Which of the following does not affect a child’s eligibility in THEbenefitsHUB?

Correct answer:  Gender…  The gender of the dependent is not a driving force when it comes to benefit eligibility.  The five fields that do drive eligibility on a dependent in THEbenefitsHUB are age, marital status, child type, disability status, and student status.

5. How often should you check your IMNS Dashboard?

Correct answer:  Weekly…  Everyone’s days are filled with interruptions even when we are making benefit changes.  Occasionally a mistake may occur or an employee’s benefits just need to be reviewed.  With your personalized notification system, the IMNS Dashboard, you can run your dashboard to prohibit those discrepancies to remain in THEbenefitsHUB.  Benefits Technology recommends checking your IMNS Dashboard once a week so your employees’ benefits are right, your exports and reporting are accurate, and your employee’s payroll deductions are correct.
